YouGov Surveys have been around for YEARS! Is probably the most well-known paid survey site there is. I’ve just learned about the YouGov Safe Extention which works with YouGov Surveys and can get you more points!
The most annoying thing about YouGov Surveys is that you need 5000 points to cash out £50. With most surveys earning you about 50 points, it can feel like it is taking years to get to that magic £50. I wonder how many people have points in their YouGov account and have given up?
I started YouGov surveys around March 2021. I managed to get a few referrals which give me an extra 200 YouGov points each time. But filling in the surveys gets between 25 and 150 points (according to my history!) with the most common amount being 50.
I’ve recently come across a way to increase your YouGov points dramatically: The YouGov Safe extension. You can get up to I got an extra 1200 YouGov points by just clicking some buttons!
First of all, you need to sign up for YouGov if you don’t already have an account. So let’s talk about that first.

YouGov Paid Surveys
As I already mentioned, YouGov surveys are a great way to get paid to fill out surveys. It’s simple to do and you get points every time you fill out a survey. Once you get 5000 points, you get £50 transferred into your bank account.
The surveys are just your opinions about certain topics, shopping habits and brands.
It’s pretty easy to do!

What I love about YouGov Paid Surveys
They are reliable – as in the surveys don’t break! Some survey sites won’t work at random points of the survey so you end up abandoning them and don’t get paid.
Also, they invite you based on your profile so you don’t get screened out. It is so frustrating to get screened out of a survey, especially a good-paying one! Or if you get quite far into the survey and then get screened out – some surveys feel. like you have started the main one and answered a fair amount of questions!
What I hate about YouGov Paid Surveys
I don’t get many surveys, but I have my notifications switched on so know when I have been selected for a paid one.
There have been times when I’ve only gotten one survey in a couple of weeks! It seems like such a long slog to get to that 5,000-point threshold so you can cash out your free money!
What is Gov Safe?
YouGov Safe is a convenient Google Chrome extension that lets you earn points by granting permission for it to securely upload your data from the various services you already use. By opting in, you can participate in this program and receive YouGov points in return.
As I said, it seems to take so long to get to 5000 points with YouGov paid surveys, but I recently found out about YouGov Safe.
YouGov Safe basically pays you for access to your data. This is used for market research purposes and also to invite you to surveys. For example, it may invite you to a survey based on something you have watched on Netflix.
Here’s the data you can upload for extra YouGov points:
- Chrome browsing history (25 points)
- YouTube viewing history (25 points)
- Netflix viewing history (25 points)
- Disney+ viewing history (25 points)
- AppleTV viewing history (75 points)
- Steam Game Library (75 points)
- Amazon Prime shopping history (25 points)
- Amazon Prime viewing history (25 points)
I got 1200 points for doing all of these apart from Disney+ as I don’t have a subscription.
Better yet, you can come back in a week or 30 days and upload it again!
(YouGov Safe has reduced the number of points it gives per upload. It is now 25 points instead of 50)
Is YouGov Safe safe?
If you are wondering ‘is YouGov legit?’ the answer is YES! The YouGov Safe Extention will never use your personal data in a way that identifies you unless you have given explicit permission for them to do so.
The data is kept safe and secure with multi-layers of protection and encryption.
Data will only be shared with clients in an anonymous format.
You can read more about the privacy information here.
Is YouGov Safe legit?
Yes, YouGov Safe is legitimate – I can confirm through personal experience that they will transfer £50 into your bank account once you get to 5000 points.

I think there are some similar things like this here in the U.S. — I’ll have to look into it as this sounds interesting!
I have never heard of either of these sites, but I love that you have had a positive experience with them throughout and that they protect the data you upload so well. Gathering browser history for analysis must be fascinating!
