I found out I was pregnant in 2020, and one of the first things I did — after the initial shock had worn off and I’d sat quietly on the bathroom floor for a bit — was go online and start researching what free stuff I could get. Priorities.
Genuinely though, pregnancy is expensive, especially if it’s your first time and you’re building up from nothing. Every bit of free product, sample, and voucher you can claim before the baby arrives is money saved on things you’d be buying anyway. And there’s quite a lot on offer in the UK if you know where to look.

Why Do Companies Offer Pregnancy Freebies?
Worth knowing upfront: brands offer freebies because they want to become your go-to when you’re sleep-deprived and buying nappies in bulk at 3am. If you tried their wipes during pregnancy and liked them, you’ll probably keep buying them. So yes, there’s a marketing angle — but the free stuff is still free, and you’re under no obligation to carry on buying anything.
Most will ask for your email address and due date. Read the privacy policies before signing up, and consider setting up a separate email address if you don’t want your main inbox filling up with baby product newsletters for the next five years.
The Best Pregnancy Freebies Available in the UK Right Now
Emma’s Diary Gift Packs
Emma’s Diary runs three gift packs you can collect at different stages: Mum-to-Be, Bump-to-Baby, and New Family.
The Bump-to-Baby pack is the most valuable — it contains a full pack of Pampers nappies, Weleda nappy cream, Milton sterilising tablets, and various money-off vouchers. The Mum-to-Be pack has skincare samples, maternity info, and a few other bits.
To claim them, register on the Emma’s Diary website with your due date, then collect your vouchers in store at Boots or Argos. They’re worth registering for early.
Boots Parenting Club
Sign up to the Boots Parenting Club and you get a free welcome gift (currently an Aveeno Baby Hair & Bodywash), extra Advantage Card points on baby products, and access to personalised offers as your baby grows. You need an Advantage Card to join, but those are free.
This is one of the better ones because the benefits carry on past pregnancy — the extra points on baby products actually add up.
Your Baby Club
Your Baby Club offers a free baby box worth over £60 — it’s a physical box of products posted to you, plus a free parenting guide, money-off vouchers, and free samples. Register on their website with your due date to claim.
Amazon Baby Wishlist
Create an Amazon Baby Wishlist and add at least £20 worth of items, and Amazon sends you a free welcome gift — currently a choice between WaterWipes, a nappy bin, a baby bottle set, or Neal’s Yard baby balm. It’s worth doing even if you’re not planning to use the wishlist seriously, just to claim the gift.
Bounty Packs
Bounty used to be famous for their hospital packs, but they’ve moved away from that model now. Instead, they offer a free Pregnancy Information Folder containing their pregnancy guide, money-off vouchers, and samples. It doubles as a folder for your pregnancy notes to take to appointments, which is actually quite useful.
Cow & Gate Baby Club
Register with Cow & Gate and you’ll receive a small soft toy, a paper pregnancy diary, and a booklet of real-life mum stories. You can also get a free weaning plan later down the line. Nothing groundbreaking but free is free.
Ella’s Kitchen
Sign up as an Ella’s Kitchen friend and you get a free weaning pack with tips and guides for introducing solids. Useful to have ready for around the six-month mark.
NHS Healthy Start Vouchers
This one’s really important if you’re on certain benefits or you’re pregnant and under 18. Healthy Start provides free vouchers to spend on fruit, vegetables, pulses, and infant formula, plus free Healthy Start vitamins. It’s a government scheme, not a brand freebie — check if you’re eligible because it’s genuinely valuable.
Pampers Club
Join the Pampers Club app and scan your nappy purchases to earn rewards, plus you get a £30 Ergobaby discount code when you sign up. The earning side requires buying their products, obviously, but the sign-up bonus alone is worth having.
Beaming Baby Nappy Trial Pack
Beaming Baby offers a free trial pack of their eco nappies — two organic bamboo nappies, one of their biodegradable nappies, a few baby wipes, nappy bags, and a £20 gift voucher. They also have training nappy packs for later on.
SMA Baby Club
Sign up to SMA Baby Club and you’re entered into a £1,000 prize draw, plus you get exclusive member offers, access to a 24-hour advice line, and personalised emails as your baby develops.
St John’s Ambulance Baby First Aid Guide
Free to request — a pocket-sized baby first aid guide with CPR guidance and emergency advice. I’d genuinely recommend every new parent gets one. It’s one of those things you hope you never need.
Free Baby Box (Scotland Only)
If you’re in Scotland, the Scottish government sends every new baby a free Baby Box worth around £160 — clothes, bedding, a digital thermometer, a baby book, and more. It can also be used as a safe sleep space for a newborn. Claim through your midwife.
Baby on Board Badge (London and South East)
If you’re travelling on TfL, you can get a free Baby on Board badge to help you ask for a seat without having to say anything. Available from the TfL website, delivered to any Greater London or South East England address.
Freebies for You Too
Don’t forget that pregnancy itself comes with some valuable financial perks beyond the freebies box:
Free NHS prescriptions and dental care — once you have your Maternity Exemption Certificate (MATEX), you get free prescriptions and NHS dental treatment throughout your pregnancy and for 12 months after the birth. Apply through your GP or midwife. Especially worth knowing if you’re prone to dental issues — free check-ups and fillings for a year is genuinely valuable.
Tips for Claiming
A few things I wish someone had told me:
- Register early — some packs, particularly Emma’s Diary, can take a few weeks to arrive or be ready to collect
- Use a separate email if you don’t want your inbox flooded with baby marketing forever
- Check eligibility before spending time registering for things like Healthy Start — use Turn2Us or EntitledTo to see what you qualify for
